Themes
The two main themes that i found relevant in the story were the force of love and the force of fate. Through the story you can see how the characters go developing, getting to know each other and growing as persons, as it develops you can also see how Romeo and Juliet's love for each other grows each time more and is each time stronger and even more passionate. The play focuses on the romance and love that exists between the two main characters Romeo and Juliet. This transmits the theme of the force of love because you can see how Romeo and Juliet's love for each other is so true and so unconditional that the hate between their two families doesn't matter to them at all, they don't separate or fight with each other just because their parents and families do, they are not judgemental, their love is so strong that they ignore everything else and only care one for the other; love is a really powerful emotion that can overthrow almost anything. As a prove of how big is the force of love and how it really can create an impact is the end of the play, were the two main characters end up dying both of suicide, both because of the pain and sadness of seeing the other one "dead", that is as far as they go. That is why the force of love is one of the main themes of the play. Another important theme in the story is the force and inevitability of fate. Romeo and Juliet are consistently trying to make things right and get everything to work out for them and their love but unfortunately, things don't always go as planned, many of their plans fail and they can never succeed in making things right, things never go as they plan. This is where the power of fate comes to action. At the beginning of the play, Romeo and Juliet are described as two star crossed lovers, meaning their love is impossible, fate and destiny are not with them but against them and they were never and will never be meant to be together, and they can do nothing to change this. Even though the two character present strength and determination, they can do nothing to change their future and make it better.
